The Village School Gold Coast is the newest and smallest independent primary school on the Gold Coast. It is located in the middle of the bustling streets of Coolangatta and purposely has no dedicated green area. As a result, the whole school heads out for daily adventures into the surrounding community as part of its place-based learning. Here students and teachers play and learn on the beach, park and river, climb trees, go bouldering and rock-hopping. Pavement etiquette is practised, along with learning how to safely engage with the community, picking up rubbish and courageous risky play opportunities. The Village School’s daily goal is to educate beyond the classroom walls, changing the face of learning.
